What's with the I(nitials)?

A few minutes ago, my friend and I were on our way here (the library)-I was planning to look up the latest news about the Zidane-Materazzi case and Serie-A allegations online...but I was sidetracked by the crowd that had gathered in front of the TV near the counter.

My friend even ditched me to go inside first while I kept my bag in the locker before I followed her in.

What was the all hush about?

Well, once I saw that it was a live-broadcast from KL about a certain popular pop star and a "titled" guy whose name is just an initial, I knew exactly what was on everyone's mind:

"Is she marrying him?"I asked.
"I guess so."My friend had her eyes glued to the TV set.

"So this is (title) K?"-->Now you know I'm not one of those people who are constantly checking out the "development" in the "relationship" of this "couple"...

"Yea."
"What's his full name?"-->Again,as above...

Heck, I don't know what's all the fuss about...I'm not interested. I never was and am not a fan so if you wanna read the most recent story about this click here.

This "story" is sure to hit the local newspaper headlines (and maybe those of neighbouring countries) but its not something I will pay close attention to. In fact,I'm only mentioning it in this post to state this "trend" that's popping up: Names that are just INITIALS.
