Alone or lonesome?
FYI:
Chipsmore? Really? Hehe... Well,it's been a helluva busy week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine you're in a room - a hall.
There's hundreds of people around you.
People sitting in the rows in front of you.
There's people sitting in the rows behind you.
People sitting in the rows across the aisle to your left.
People sitting in the rows across the aisle to your right.
And not one farmiliar face registers in your mind.
You're not alone...
But you are.
Alone in a group of strangers.
That pretty much sums up my experience this previous weekend.
So the 3-day module thing is finally over...and I'm glad. Now I can get back to the "civilisation" that I belong to.
You see, while the "rest of civilisation"(aka my batch of coursemates) have attended the module last year, I haven't due to unforseen circumstances. *coughs*actually I ditched the module to join ICG at Peace Haven last year*coughs*...and so it was just me...
And luckily, two others as well.
One was an international student from Mauritius - she missed the module last year because she wasn't aware there was one.
Another was a coursemate and part-classmate since we're in the same Mass Lecture class - he missed it last year cos he had to go back home to look after his then sick Mom.
They were the only two farmiliar faces in the hall...and eventhough we never talked, the three of us became quite well-acquainted by the end of the 3 days...
Which leads me to this theory: When you're the minority and you don't know nobody, you tend to be more "open" to those who have at least SOME - if not the most - similarities with you...
So I guess the weekend wasn't that much of a waste...I've sincerely added 2 new people into my list of Friends (and I'm not talking friends.ter here).
Also, on the third day of the module, I even bumped into a senior of mine when I was doing my diploma in Samarahan.
Suddenly, I wasn't alone anymore.
